about

Four tunes recorded at the Dean Winter Studio in Salt Lake City during 2024. This is an excellent recording that will test sophisticated playback systems and play well on all devices.

Willis Clow holds a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Guitar from the University of Utah and a Master of Music in Studio/Jazz Guitar from the University of Southern California. He has been working as a professional musician since 2001.

Willis Clow established a solid reputation as a top flight jazz and rock guitarist while playing in several notable groups in the Salt Lake City area, including RealEyes, Six Sided Box, John Henry and Salt Lake Alternative Jazz Orchestra. He has performed in a variety of musical styles and has played in concert with Eddie Daniels, Bill Watrous, Robben Ford, Kenny G. and the Utah Symphony.

In 2010, he played guitar on film trailers for the U.S. release of "Boogie Woogie" and the U.K. release of "Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll, "Down Terrace" (also banjo), and "The Secret in Their Eyes." He also played mandolin on Margaret Cho's "Hey Big Dog" which features Fiona Apple.

In June of 2008, he performed with French singer Jeanne Mas at the historic Trianon Theater in Paris and again in 2009 at the Olympia in Paris. Jeanne Mas' latest release, "Be West", on which he played guitar, charted in the top ten in France's Virgin stores during the summer of 2008.

Now back in Salt Lake City, Willis is active once again with his trio and the Subconscious 3 combo. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Utah Jazz Studies Department and performs with the jazz professors group.
